Well, I hit the wall. A filmmaker is making a documentary about my |

husband, and requested I make home movies of him read, cooking, walking to the mailbox, etc. footage to maybe use as background while husb will be reading from his work. Well, here is what I did: Set up the tripod, press "Record", check the viewfinder to make sure the counter is going forward, then I have gone around in front of the camera and leaned over almost double to plug in some thing, or untangle a cord, and voila! When reviewing the footage, my humongous lard a$$ fills the entire screen. I went on the Rice Diet Solution book regime. I lost 9 lbs in 7 days and do not crave anything. Walk right by boxed of donuts at work. Can't believe myself. Just want to put in a good word for the plan, whole grains, no salt, no caffeine, fruit, beans, rice, salads with oil and vinegar and hunks of pineapple. I have been on all of the diets and had really given up, until I saw that image on the monitor.

1. That sounds like a very sensible diet. |
|
It's very similar in food choices to the plans put forward by Dr. John McDougall. Kind of the anti-Atkins I suppose. :) Congratulations on your great early results, and please keep us posted! :)

2. Thx for the "Gentle" encouragement, Giant! I will check into McDougall. |

I am able to walk. My swollen knee went down. Feet feel fine. I am looking forward to what comes of it. Thanks again.

3. I don't know anything about that particular diet, but... |
|
I would be wary about any commercial diet like that. If it works for you, then that's awesome, but there are definitely simple basics to eating healthy and losing weight/maintaining a healthy weight--eat lean protein with every meal (lean chicken breast, egg whites, lean fish, other lean meats), stick to complex and fibrous carbs, eat lots of healthy fats (flax, nuts and seeds, some veggie oils), and drink as much water as you can stomach--eat 5-6 times a day, every 2-3 hours--and lift weights and do some cardio.
Just be cautious :).
