surgery done, pain ongoing .. |
|
hello friends! Thanks for all the good wishes and words of kindness and support. Surgery went well. Dr repaired the incisional hernia and cleaned up some nasty adhesions. I have a really long incision and had the drain removed yesterday. I have a lot of pain this time, more than when I had my original BP/DS surgery in 2005. Maybe I'm turning into a wuss :) I've gotten a script for percocet, the lortab just isn't doing it for me. I'm off work till next wednesday and glad for it.
thanks again folks, you're a great support/network.

I thought the Dr had prescribed percocet but I was mistaken, it's darvocet. I'm not sure it's doing any better than the lortab, but I should probably rest more.
 thanks again.

glad you let us know how everything went. I'm sorry to hear about your meds not doing the trick for you, but hope you have contacted your Dr. and he has sent a new Rx for you. Thank goodness you are taking the time off until next week. Your body will thank you!

I too am glad I'm taking the time off. This surgery 'feels' worse than the major surgery last March. Hubby says it's because last March they kept me in the hospital medicated for 5 days. This time although it was abdominal surgery they sent me home the next day with oral meds. I guess that's why it seems more painful.
thanks again.

Myself I have been in a lot of pain that is related to the incision and the dissection for the surgery, but everything else is great. I know from both personal and professional experience that the Percocet will deal with the pain better than the Lortab. Hang in there.
