1. Our record July heat wave passed last week, and now I am sitting here |
|
with a sweater and 2 pairs of socks on my feet - rainy, windy, and 14 degrees C..... BRRRRRRRR!
:D
Otherwise doing fine, eating is going well now that I record it all down on FitDay....lost 3 kilo so far, and one day of eating well for weightloss goes better than the next, and I don't beat myself over about it either.
:hi:

16. people seem to be having a lot of success |
|
with recording their consumption on FitDay. Eating well is sort of addictive after a while. I tend to become obsessed at times with what I should eat for my next meal (while eating a meal). I make a concerted effort to go for the high protein and low carb foods.
Good for you for having lost 3 Kilo!!
keep up the good work :)

17. Thanks aA! I have found this FitDay site most enlightening |
|
about exactly HOW I like to eat, and discovered that even though I love and enjoy "healthy" fats like avocados, raw nuts, fatty fish, they ARE high fat and thus conducive to not losing weight, so I have drastically limited these for a while. When you see the intake circle on this site in thirds for fats, carbs and proteins and watch how having a chunk of avocado or a few nuts increases that fat wedge, it is easy for me with this visual image to take measures!
Without having a diet to follow - I am always a bit rebellious in character to imposed regimes :D - this enables me to create my diet as I go along in each day, incorporating the foods I want and have in my frig/pantry, keeping tabs on fats, carbs, and proteins as well as calories.
As I get older I find I do and feel much better on lower carb meals!

13. I'm starting to get crazy ... |
|
I weigh myself every morning, sometimes twice or three times. :(
I almost panic if the numbers go UP! I know that's ridiculous, weight fluctuates as the day goes on. I have to stay away from the scale.
You're right though, that last 5 or so is the hardest.
 You're doing really well.

7. Trying to start Atkins again |
|
and finding it hard to cut the carbs that I know I shouldn't eat... like bread and pasta. Eating them puts me onto the slippery slope where I want candy and a sorts of sweet stuff. So, I'm better off not indulging in them, period. But I swear it's hard. x(

11. I have a terrible time with carbs too.. |
|
They make me feel really bloated and there is NO nutrition in them at all. I've found the South beach diet breakfast bars really satisfy my need for the crunchy stuff AND the sweet stuff too. there's 10 grams of protein in one bar!

Try not to think of it as 'dieting'. Think of it as eating to live, making good choices and enjoying those choices. Back to the gym is an excellent idea!
You'll do fine.

19. Oh, being smoke free is an incredible accomplishment! |
|
All the best in keeping your lungs free....when I quit after smoking heavily for almost 10 years I felt a strange feeling in my mid back for about a year....as if the process of my lungs cleaning themselves out gave some kind of sensation in my back!
 :toast:

don't feel ashamed. I think, what a lot of folks do is only post when things are going along swimmingly. We are all here to support one another. Good or bad, we're all interested in the day to day struggles of weight loss. Someone, somewhere may have a word of encouragement that just might be what you need to hear. Your exercise program would kill me! Please be careful and keep us posted on how you're doing!
again, congrats to you in your endeavour to quit smoking! :applause:
