I have a strange problem with my scale. |
|
I weigh myself at home, no matter where in the house and it says I am at one weight. I use one outside my house, it is another. How do I know what I weigh?

1. Get weighed in at your doctor's office. |
|
Preferably on an electronic scale. Those are rarely off by more than a pound or two. If you don't have a doctor, just stop by the nearest hospital and ask to be weighed. I would hope they would allow that at no charge....
Barring that, place your home scale on a tile or hardwood floor. Weighing on a rug usually throws the reading off. Does anyone in your household know their exact weight? If they do, have them weigh themselves. If that reading is substantially off then I'd figure your scale to be a lost cause. If not, then are you within (or no more than 20-30% over) the capacity of the scale? Mine is a 400 lb. model and even in the 450's I'm getting readings I can trust with no sign of the scale being stressed by the extra weight. My doctor's electronic one agreed with mine until I managed to exceed its capacity due to all this water weight gain.
Give those ideas a try. You're sure to get an accurate measurement somewhere! :hi:

2. I just bought this scale, and I put it on tile, linoleum, and hardwood |
|
floors, that is all we have.
I guess I have to get an electronic one because I cannot go to the doctor every week.

3. Is the weight that your scale shows that far off what the other scales |
|
are telling you? If not, then you just might want to go with what your scale is telling you. The main point is to find out how much you are losing. And your scale will be able to measure that from whatever the starting point is. At some point, you will go to the Dr. and then you can figure out what the difference is between your scale and the Dr's. and you can do the math. You will still be able to keep track of how much you are losing...
