Second Lap Band fill today |

Edited on Thu Sep-28-06 04:42 AM by mduffy31
But this one was awful. When he was setting up the PA working with my doc asked if he wanted Lidocane. He said no, but I piped up and said, don't necessarily shoot down that idea. He then asked if I wanted it and like an idiot I said nah. Well when he inserted the needle, now FYI this is a 3 inch 20ga needle, it slipped off of some scar tissue and went into my rectus abdominis muscle. It felt like I had been stabbed, which technically I had. I literally jumped off the table and yelled "FUCK!" After that the doc used some lido and things went fine. He did have a problem finding the groove so next time I have to have it done under a fluoroscope so he can see what he is doing. All I know is that right now I am hurting 12 hours later.

1. Ouch! That sounds like a rough go of it. |

I really hope the pain drops to a dull roar or below very soon. By the way, what exactly is a "lap band fill," and how many more do you have to have?

2. I had the VG band surgery |
|
The fill is to provide restriction to help curb the appetite, it can take up to 8 fills but everyone is different. I think that i will probably just need one more.

Now I have had a Lap-Band so there is no way I could every eat that. To: mduffy31 Date: Jan-17-07 01:31 AM Thursday I'm going to a orientation by a surgeon on a band operation. A co-worker is also going, any complications with yours. I just might do it, now at 370 lbs I just never looked for this forum before
on edit:
I looked at you earlier posts and see you had it done in July and finding the port has been a painfull hit or miss,
....my scrubs for work don't fit me anymore! Of course now I have to buy more now. Best $26,000 my insurance company ever spent.

welcome to the forum. Good luck with your lap band. I had the Biliopancratic Diversion with the Duodenal Switch. I've lost 162 lbs ..maintaining my weight at 137 hasn't been a problem.
