Long time lurker and finally decided to make my journey public. Sick of buying clothes because I need extra room.:)
Started Nutrisystem May 7 and think it's a great jump start but prepackaged stuff isn't for me. Will continue to use it until I'm done with the food I already purchased but will stop when it's gone. Purchased the book "Nourish" and will continue on that way. One of my biggest downfalls is I love to cook, so I'll just start cooking low cal, low fat.
Walking an hour a day and going to the gym a couple days a week. Thinking about joining a yoga group. I know nothing about yoga but looks interesting.
Anyhoo, nice to be here. Now I'm off to take a quick peruse through DU and then off for a my walk. :hi:

Loving to cook can be such a great thing when it comes to seeking out new recipes and making nutritious meals for yourself and your family. You will all reap the benefits!

Admitting I needed to do something was half my battle. My GP gave me some really good encouragement and told me that losing inches from my waist would be the best thing I could do for myself. He didn't talk weight so much just inches. I'm starting with a realistic goal and will work on mantaining that before I set another. :)

I'm so glad to see you wandered over this way, and are joining our group!!! It sounds like you are taking some concrete steps toward taking charge of your eating, and making exercise a part of your daily routine. Don't forget that you could include a dip in the mod tub as part of that new exercise regime! Has it been cleaned recently?
Please keep us posted on your progress- hugs to you

My kaftan was getting a bit snug. :D As for the tub, I'm not sure the last time it's been cleaned....too much lounging around.

Starting with Nutrisystem is good training for getting used to portion control. And as someone who loves to cook, you are more likely to prepare healthy, nutritious meals. Unfortunately, I don't care much for cooking so I reach too often for convenience foods. I try to be healthy about it, though.
Good luck and thanks for dropping in! :hi:

I'm down 7lbs.... about the same to go for my first goal. I have had a few relapses with the out of town visitors, kids end of the year parties, etc. But hope to get back on track. :hi:
