After nearly 3 months...finally noticeable weight loss!!! |
|
It's been 3 months, and after being stuck at 290 for all that time I was about ready to give up. I hadn't even weighed myself in 2 weeks. However, I did keep up on my diet & excercise routine. Well, I was shocked today when I stepped on the scale and it read 283!
Who knows, maybe it just took my body that long to get into fat-burning mode.
Just thought I'd share this little success story with you all.

Isn't it great that it snuck off of you! I've always heard that it's best not to weigh frequently as our weight certainly fluctuates over short periods. Now you know you can keep up the good work and the good results should follow! :)

I'm near the same weight that you are. When I started working out last week I weighed 277. I now weigh 273. I was actually down to 272, but for some reason I gained a pound back.
I haven't really started on a diet yet, but I've got a few ideas for low calorie food from a few other people here and I think I'm going to give that a go pretty soon. The problem is that I'm also trying to quit smoking and that can make losing weight problematic even if you are working out. I'm just trying to lay off the junk food and not overeat. I'll worry about the diet in another week or so when I've got a better handle on my cravings. It's been 6 days since I've had a cigarette.

I've had a little help with quitting smoking. I was prescribed Wellbutrin last year for depression. I've been taking it ever since. It turns out that Wellbutrin is also prescribed to help smokers deal with their cravings when they quit smoking. I was thinking to myself that I wasn't having as rough a time with quitting as I have in the past. I just realized why last night.

that is great! another good indicator is to measure yourself. i didn't know this until i started on atkins a few years ago. they say to measure your waist, thighs, upper arms and around your chest but above your breasts. when the scale seems to not be moving, sometimes you'll see results in inches instead.
keep up the good work! you have motivated me to continue on, also!
