Gastric-bypass patients..I am going for a second opinion |
|
I have had terrible neurological problems..seizures and severe memory loss..since my surgery.I had to have a pacemaker put in due to frequent passing out episodes. My doctors all passed the buck to each other,so I am seeing a new "Dr House"-like doc next Mon to see if I can get on IV vitamins.I believe I have a serious B1 deficiency, and simply can not absorb oral vitamins. One of my co-workers is having the same prob.I'll keep you informed. been taking dry vitamins as opposed to those that are encapsulated with oil based products? I only take dry vits because I was told early out that we couldn't absorb the other type. I had the BPD/DS and if I remember correctly your surgery was the RNY?
I'll be thinking of you and sending good healing vibes your way, please keep us updated on how you're doing.
I am having some issues with Iron which is not unusual. I'm currently Iron Deficient Anemic and will need Iron infusions. (waiting for the Dr to call with appt. time etc).
I take TwinLab dry A 400 iu x4 a day TwinLab dry A&D 400 iu x4 a day I also take a prescription D 4 times a day 2 prenatal 2x a day just because they have more in them than regular multi vitamins I take a prescription Iron pill 3x a day (Niferex Forte 150mg) I take 400 mg of Calcium Citrate 3 times a day too.
The iron and calcium are taken separate from all the other pills so that the calcium doesn't interfere with the absorbtion.
I get a B12 shot every 2 weeks.
In the morning I take rocalcitriol and a tiny amount of levothyroxine.
I hope I remembered everything :)
