This is a new one. My father (a retired M.D.) attributes my weight gain to Cushings Syndrome. |
|
Yes, some weight distribution around the abdomen and a fuller face, BUT not necessarily moon facies. I don't have any other symptoms. Plus I gained ca. 30% over my ideal weight. Of course my neck will show it.
Anyone have knowledge or experience with Cushings? It's relatively rare. Not all weight gain is a tumor on your adrenal gland.

1. I've never heard of it. What's the treatment for it? |

I attribute my weight gain to Pizza and Heinekin syndrome. :D

2. Online information indicates options of surgery, steroids. |

Honestly I think my father misses being a physician and is in search of a patient. Before the Cushings theory, he was convinced I was hypothyroid until I got test results that were 100% normal. I'll probably take the cortisol spit test to show him he's off the track. I've changed my diet (1/2 portions) and I'm losing weight.
