Wednesday, 8/17/05 meal plan thread. |
|
I'll be having green beans sauteed with garlic and a little teriyaki sauce over a medley of brown rices, in several small serving bowls throughout the day. Quick and simple because I'm too lazy to try and cook this morning.

So eggbeaters for breakfast, 2 Boca burgers for lunch, no bun and dinner is the other chicken breast i made last night with some sauteed mushrooms and broccoli.

More variety than me, that's for sure. I find it easier just to make a big batch of one thing and stick with it throughout the day, unless I spend the whole day at home and I can make many small things quickly.

sauteed mushrooms and broccoli sound great! Do you put any particular spices or sauce on them, or just sautee' them 'au naturel'?

4. Ok i usually start them out in a little "I can't believe it's not butter" |
|
spray and then let them cook over med-high heat for awhile and i wait to salt, salt makes it take longer to brown, after they've cooked down a bit and the color looks good i remove it from the heat for just a moment and de-glaze the pan with a little balsamic vinegar and then back on the heat and let it reduce a bit and voila---all done and pretty tasty. I have always used balsamic vinegar but now since going on the "life change" i find i use it sometimes twice a day.
Ok for the broccoli i steam it a small amount of chicken stock and at the last minute i toss the mushrooms over the broccoli and then mix it gently.
Another spice i like to use it Chinese 5 spice powder and i use smoky cumin in many things as well, especially shrimp---yum.
