Day 4
I did well yesterday, despite being home all day.

I'm just sticking to the plan... protein first and no drinking while I eat. 3 meals, 3 snacks.... I can do this.

I'm not going to get on the scale until next week... maybe next Friday.

1. Do yourself an even bigger favor. Give it a month.
For the weigh-in, that is. Seriously. If you weigh in after only one week, and for some reason you're retaining even a couple extra pounds of water, it will make you think you lost very little to nothing, or even gained, when in fact you're just seeing an anomaly.

Other people here have suggested to me that I weigh myself only once a month. I can't promise that I won't sneak a peek here and there, but then I can tell just by how my work pants are starting to droop on me that even if I'm not losing pounds, I'm converting fat into much denser muscle quickly enough to lose inches. Now, which do you suppose is more important in a case like that?

From everything I'm reading from you, your heart is in the right place and you're trying so very wonderfully hard to achieve your goals. Please give it time and concentrate on sticking to a sensible meal plan and getting good exercise for now. I promise that before long you too will see a difference in how your clothes are fitting, and the numbers on the scale can only move in one direction once that happens. It matters not how quickly.

Just some thoughts about the whole scale syndrome we dieters face. :)

2. I agree with Gentle Giant
I think it's easy to become too obsessed with the scale. That, in turn, could theoretically force one into some unhealthy habits just to see a ROI.

You're doing great, MissMillie!! :applause:
