I'm giving Weight-Watchers "Points" Plan a try. Great online resources. |

You can "do" Weight Watchers totally online now (no weird meetings to attend) and once you sign up, you get a lot of online tools to track your daily food 'points' and you can choose your own weekly weigh-in and record that and it draws a graph for you over time. Messageboards for weightloss support, and recipes, etc.
Just more cool stuff than I thought when I decided to do WW online.
Just thought I'd share :hi:

then once i got the hang of it (like how to calculate the points), i ended the subscription. i still count points though & have lost 50 lbs. (where i'm stuck :grr: i need to lose about 50 more).

It seems like the people on the WW messageboards HAVE lost weight and are losing so that's encouraging too.
Journaling (online) my food intake each day with WW is helping me too.

I like the online tracking of both exercise and points and I never felt deprived. I don't know why I quit but I'm going to stick with it this time.

I'm losing so far and plus I have been exercising as well!
Tracking points and exercise is really easy and is forcing me to consider my portions, etc.
So far I'm very happy with WW.

and lost 40 lbs! I've kept it off, too. I also liked all the online tools - nifty stuff. I had to make sure to also work on the mental crap that accompanied all the weight gain in the first place, or else it would have crept back on, which is a possibly helpful hint for you. ;)

I have friends at work who have been in WW for years and some who recently started. We have decided to have our own weekly mtgs and weigh ins so we won't have to pay the weekly fee. Here's to our success!!

I'm trying to get my sister to join WW Online -- we'll see. I lost about 3.5 pounds this week, which was a little less than I thought considering it was my first week, but I've lost and gained so many times, I don't think I get the big "first week" loss any more. It's kind of nice to get the little lecture from WW on not losing too quickly. :) My first week was pretty easy so I can be patient.

I'm getting plenty of points but I peed SEVEN times during the night - I usually don't take in adequate fluids so I hope my poor bladder can adjust!! I would love to have a 3.5 loss next week - good work!!

Sauté a medium, sliced banana in 1 tablespoon butter. Nuke a small (6-8 in.) Trader Joe's low fat spelt tortilla between two damp paper towels until it becomes stiff (3-6 minutes on high, depending on your microwave). Mix ½ cup fat free cottage cheese with ½ cup drained, canned mandarin orange slices, chopping the orange slices as you mix. Spread orange/cottage cheese mixture over tortilla. Spread sautéed banana over the top.

If you ever want to go to a national chain restaurant just send me a pm and I'll tell you exactly what the points are for each item.
The books have many options. My big one right now-Mandarin Orange Chicken Salad at Wendy's w/ no dressing(use 2 TBSP FF Kraft Italian at home), no crispy noodles and no almonds is only 3 points! And it fills me up right away. If I have a bunch of extra points and am eating this at supper then I can also get a cup of chili at Wendy's w/ the chili seasoning for 4 points. If you want crackers then it is one point per two saltines.

OK I started the WW Online too, last week. In the beginning they ask you your weight and then assign your points. Do you have to readjust this figure after losing weight? At what point? I mean, if I start out at 180 and get 24 points, what happens when I reach 170? I didn't find this to be very well explained on their website. OR should you enter the weight you WANT to be the first time? Any answers? Thanks

You eat the number of points according to your weight, and you drop the points you eat as you lose weight.
Ok, this is from a "getting started" booklet I got a couple of years ago so it may be a bit out of date:
Less than 150: 18-23 150-174: 20-25 175-199: 22-27 200-224: 24-29
and on from there.

I was worried that they were trying to MAINTAIN my weight. Paranoid, I guess. Are you folks having any progress with the plan?
Another thought... Oh my God! What will I eat on 20 points a day? Egads.

I'm really pleased. I felt like I had plenty to eat (but I get alot of points now). I think I can stick to this. I have some friend on 22 points/ day and you would be surprised at what they can eat! How is everyone else doing this week?

Fill up on them. There is also a zero pound veggie soup, that is delicious. I leave out the cabbage, but add more zero point veggies. Make a large quantity and freeze it. You can then heat it up for quick meals or snacks.
Also keep cut up veggies around, you can use Molly McButter, or other seasonings, to jazz them up. A lot of packaged seasonings are free of points, use a variety to keep things interesting.
You can do it on 20 points a day, and remember you get 35 other points for the week. And exercise increases the points have. So the more exercise you do, the more points you can have.
