7. I'm barred

from posting in the Addiction/Recovery group, because I posted my objections to the group being used as a dark hole in which to vilify members posting elsewhere at DU.

I don't know why someone who posts in the Women's Rights forum for the sole purpose of vilifying other members of DU should be allowed to keep posting there.

I speak prospectively, of course -- no administration decision/action to date is being questioned.

Such a decision/action might be advisable from this point onward. Requests to that effect could be made.

11. He's an idiot

I had a nurse friend who would listened to him when I was working nights at another job. I asked her why, and she basically had a "know thy enemy" attitude. Wasn't worth it to me. I did know and talk a fan who defended him by saying he was "helped men and women who just wanted to get laid go out and just do it without baggage" (pretty much a direct quote)

He had "liberated" women asking him to sign their "rack". So empowering to have a unattractive and colossal waste of time, energy and air, write his name on breasts. Ugh.

A typical shock jock, he just feeds the underlying misogyny of our culture. In other words, if someone has the guts to say it, and I feel that way, why it MUST BE SO (Insert thundering voice of Patriarchal God here)

His fans do not question where or how or why those feelings originated, never question their validity, or rather, they don't want to question, or look too deeply, takes too much brain power to challenge the status quo. They like to keep their sex dirty. Bad little boys and girls who don't want to have adult sex. Keep it low brow and porn nasty. Then call up to get verbally abused or talk shit about sex and "relationships"

The Leykis's of the world know how to manipulate our sexist/misogynist/rape culture. He's a pimp really, in every negative sense of the word.

Any fan of his has to be extremely immature, very angry, or deeply deluded.

for some reason, most libertarians i know, and i know some very active card-carrying libertarians, tend to not take feminism seriously. they see it as akin to affirmative action.
