I don't check in here often. In fact, I hardly ever post on this forum. However, . . . |
|
Sometime in the recent past, on this forum, there was a thread about feminist films. I had not seen most of them, but I made note of the films mentioned & I have watched 'Thelma & Louise' & 'Bagdad Cafe.' T&L was ok, but I loved Bagdad Cafe. I loved that German woman & her impact on her community. Thank you for a great recommendation!
I will report back when I have viewed more of the films mentioned.

1. So glad you enjoyed it...! |
|
...and hope you'll return to share more of your impressions on feminist films, or even recommend a few. :hi:
BTW, Baghdad Cafe was actually my first time viewing a foreign film. Saw it w/a feminist friend and advisor in college. Technically it's considered a foreign film as it's original title is German (I think). But there are only subtitles in the first five minutes--and depending on what version of it you find, you may not even see that.
Again, glad you liked it!

2. I just got Whale Rider today, |
|
& Rabbit Proof Fence is in the mail.
My husband likes concert videos, so we go back & forth. One concert, one feminist flick . . .
;)

Is this list still around?
I have stopped watching movies, video and tv, but being reminded of that movie makes me want to watch again.
