(Sorry. Couldn't resist a small bon mot.) A Virginia pharmacy that refused to stock contraception (or cosmetics) has closed: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/12/AR2010041204107.html?hpid=news-col-blog

Stupid assholes. A small rant; a friend of mine is getting her midwifery certification and her NP specializing in obstetrics. Our hospital education reimbursement program has restructured itself somehow, leaving her without funding right in the middle of it. In the meantime, we're building a new wing that will include an expanded and more sophistacated.... yup, you guessed it, NICU. (neonatal intensive care unit) My friend, of course is pissed. She recently put of a copy of an article about our disgusting national maternal death rate in the break room. This country hates women.

I am very happy to see this. The university where I work (office drone) has a chapter of a Christian Pharmacists Association. I would imagine that it exists to train future Pharmacists how to deny legal, safe, medical care to females according to an extremist interpretation of ancient misogynist texts. Why else would a majority religion need a specific club all their own? It isn't like they need to stick together to keep all those super-violent, non-Christian pharmacy students from harassing them all day long.
