anybody adept at wikipedia?

I've just encountered the most appalling piece of tripe that badly needs more attention.

Just for starters, I see two Canadians cited in it: Wendy McElroy and Linda Halliday-Sumner. McElroy I'm very familiar with -- a horrible right-wing cretin. Oh, and the citation for her is to Fox News. Halliday-Sumner appears to be one of those "men's rights" aunt jane types. The piece of hers that is cited is a candidate for the Reader's Digest, and is 12 years old:

There is not even one of wiki's little warning labels at the top of this thing, like how it just might have a pov.

There's a fair bit on the discussion page -- I like "WHO WROTE THIS SHIT???" -- but it's sitting there undisturbed, as is.

Anybody need a project? I've just never become a wiki adept and I don't have the time or patience for it just at the moment.

In any event, do check it out. The menz own the internets, once again.

This thing actually needs removing, plain and simple. Tell me how/where to demand that, and we can all do it. ;)

Aunt wotsit. Is to women as Uncle Tom is to African-Americans. For some reason "Jane" was what came to my head, or at least out my fingers, but I may have been thinking of Nurse Jane Fuzzywuzzy from the Uncle Wigglies. ;)

Google Wendy McElroy and you'll get a feel for what I was on about. Apart from the fact that she's a disgusting right-wing anti-women cretin, citing her -- let alone the other Canadian nonentity and her little unsubstantiated screed about women sex offenders -- as authority for anything just has no place in wikipedia.

7. I didn't realize McElroy was Canadian

I was introduced to her philosophy by my brother--who to give him credit, but trying to relate--during a brief discussion on feminism. I looked her up. Oh. My. God. Major asshole and a wack job. (I'm starting to like the British pejorative wanker, for some reason it seems to suit her)

My brother was just getting into his hard care Libertarian stage at that time, and I can't remember if he was still reading world net daily or not. Anyway, in a word, She is disgusting.

The whole part of the page could be deleted now that I've looked at it. It's nonsense and doesn't belong in the article, period. 'False rape' statistics need about one small paragraph using with a large population study (if available) Not that---what was it-- "small enough town with the resources to pursue it" or however that was worded. Plus it's poorly written, far too dense, hard to actually read and full of biased language.

I haven't done wiki in a very long time, so I won't commit, but I'll definitely start looking at ways to improve that idiocy. I wish I had time, because it could be fun to tweak that article.

Yes, McElroy is a prime asshole.

What I couldn't figure out is whether there's some way at wikipedia to just "report" an article the way one would a post here at DU. That one is simply beyond improvement, it's a piece of crap. ;) At the very very very least it should have one of those warning labels, that it's complete POV with no substantiation.
