Welcome.

The posters who started this group really felt we needed a place to come and discuss issues that affect women in today's society and politics where we could actually talk, not defend our thoughts, views and opinions from those who would deny and dismiss them. In the two+ weeks we've been involved in the effort to form the group, a slew of things came up that not only gave insight as to what those issues are but some of the problems we have in even beginning to confront the issues.

I have tons of ideas myself, and I'm sure so many who got this thing started have plenty of ideas as well, but right now, I'm just going to bask in the fact that the fight to get this place is over. :-)

I usually hesitate to post on women's issues in GD because I'm tired of being flamed. I have to admit that there seems to be fair amount of anti-feminism around here. I guess it's the same with all movements; you can't let the subject disappear because it's controversial. Anyway, I'm very happy about this forum.

Skinner was great to work with on this even pushing us to get into the specifics which I was reluctant to do. However, doing so gives the admins and mods real understanding (and authority) to moderate this group and I appreciate his pushback on it.

I wish I had been more involved; I just never checked out the groups and forums much. Only started looking in recently; then the server crash over memorial day, and then we were out of town!

Well, I'm gonna have to start jotting down my thoughts when I drive. That's when they come to mind.

Gee, and having a group of like minded people, I won't have to feel like I could only post fully thought out ideas that I was ready to defend. That should feel like a relief.
