91-year-old woman raped in La Jolla |
|
There have been a lot of cases of rapists who specialize in attacking elderly females, and many cases of rapes of females who were overweight or, at least according to cultural stereotypes, unattractive. Yet the myth seems to persist that rapists choose targets who are sexually attractive to them. I wonder if non-feminist, conservative females who believe that myth will soon be paying plastic surgeons to make them look older, heavier, and less like the cultural stereotypes of beauty in our society, so that they'll be more attractive to men.

the rape trial in Florida where the judge said something about the victim along the lines of "Why would he rape her? She doesn't look like a walk in the park." The worthless piece of shit judge apologized eventually, but not before the damage was done. And I'm willing to bet he wasn't really sorry, but just had to save face or had his job threatened. I mean, as we all know, women really can ask for rape by looking or acting a certain way. Because of course, it's NEVER the perpetrator's fault. She MADE him do it. Hell, this 91-year-old woman was probably tempting the rapist with her voluptuous ankles or something. It can NEVER be the perpetrator's fault when it comes to rape. Never. :sarcasm:

A conversation I had with a rabid right-wing shipmate in the Navy. He blamed, get this, feminism for rape. Uh huh. He claimed that rape increased exponentially from the 70s on because men didn't feel compelled to "protect" women anymore due to "women's lib". Seriously. So many things wrong with that statement I knew not where to begin. I did point out to him that if it seemed as though there was a higher rate of rape it was probably due to more women reporting rapes because feminists had worked hard to remove the stigma on victims.
