The mod(s) who locked this thread actually named the sexist language as a reason. I am SO thrilled the thread got locked (I didn't even see it in time to alert on it) AND that they actually named the reason. (I've seen them lock sexist threads but use "flamebait" or some such as the reason.)

I'm just tickled pink. I feel like we've made SO MUCH PROGRESS since I first joined DU and I'm so, SO pleased.

Oh, I see you did not even have time to alert! That is even better, I wonder, could it be that there are mods looking specifically for this after the last week? Actually more than a simple week but this last one has been a humdinger (I always wanted to use that word in a post). I have been gone most of the day and am leaving for a lot of the evening so I have no idea what else is out there right now but this is a good sign. We have to celebrate every victory.

8. I knew before I opened that link

what it would contain. I had just decided to send Admod a working version of a Frurker profile, because of an OP tonight that has all the recurring signs and got plenty of DUers to rise to the bait and vote it to Greatest. What fun! :bounce:

Stopped by here first and bingo-- on your link there were some items from the Frurker profile checklist.

These signs are are a package and some are easy to spot-- I think they use them to spot each other and aid and abet. This is a good way to sniff something out-- if it smells funny and enough of the signs are there....

Some of the sexist shite and other bullshit is coming from the Frurkers. Thanks to Admod for making this call and supporting the spirit of the Rules on DU.

9. Locking

As has been noted on more than one occassion these types of threads (e.g., comments on the policing of DU) are not within the DU rules and go way beyond the prescripts of this group.

Admin and Mods are aware of your concerns and the best way to aid us in changing board behavior is to hit the alert button.
