in that child support thread in GD. Some posters act like the welfare of a child is less important than the almighty dollar. Absolutely nuts. Very sad to see that attitude at a "progressive" website.

I missed it as well. I suppose It ran along the lines of "she spends the money on herself" or "I was her choice to have a baby" or " She fights me in court and I don't get to see the kids anyway"
Oh, God, I can't think of any more of that shit off the top of my head right now. All bullshit that ignores "This is my child, and I'm responsible for the welfare of that child"

but still, the anti-child, anti-woman tone to some posts is mind boggling.

Edit- there are two there now...the one I'm talking about is the one about the father who found out a child he thought was his wasn't after all...after 5 years.

6. I don't understand how you can go from loving a child as your own

to totally not giving a shit about her or his welfare...I recognize that it must have been quite a blow to this man to learn that the child was not his, biologically...but after five years, was there no deeper connection made with the kid, no loving bond, that would have established concern and overridden his anger?

I adopted Beloved Daughter; I told her that I can't make many guarantees in Life, but Daddy and I will always love and support, even if we go to Heaven!!!

I hope that man realizes that NOTHING is more important than a child - and the love of that child!

And ... biology-smalogy! There is no stronger bond than the one between my daughter and I.
