|
I suppose I should be surprised.

has a member from this area posted to a thread in GD regarding women's rights only to get flamed, belittled, etc.? Or what's worse, come to this area and be forced to considering a perspective we're all well aware of?

ideas for a group OP/integrated thread for tomorrow where that was off-limits-- as an example of what could be, in honor of the day. A test run for respectful diaglogue.
In the other thread, I asked to hear from "men who support us." There are cool men hear, but I never notice them speaking up for us when we are being hijacked and harrassed.
The response to the idea (short notice) is so far miniscule. Underwhelmed. Skeptical. Incredulous
What if we give it a go?
edit to leave in mispellings. I like em. "Cool men hear"?

6. Interesting that there is a long list in GD |
|
of men chiming in to support "choice". Interesting in that, I think they understand how unwanted pregnancy and the banning of abortion affects them. Interesting in that the thread about blogging against sexism isn't receiving the same supportive response... Interesting.
For the record, I recently heard personally from a man here when my point was being hijacked and my person being harrassed. They are here. But a good deal of them need to learn to speak up on women's issues and sexist bullshit even when they think it doesn't affect them. Because ultimately, it affects all of us.

7. Exactly the larger point that repro privacy & 3-8 potential "blog" thread |
|
can address.
"But a good deal of them need to learn to speak up on women's issues and sexist bullshit even when they think it doesn't affect them. Because ultimately, it affects all of us."
Some here get that, including some that are obnoxious to start with and if they every calm down enough to say what they have to say-- there are actual thoughts there. It seems the fangs come out when they THINK WE ARE ALL THE SAME PERSON, THEIR TARGET "FEMINAZI"
To which I say
HOMEY DON'T PLAY DAT :bounce:
