video on Dove campaign for real beauty site
Edited on Sun Oct-15-06 12:20 AM by JI7
it shows what they do in making over a woman before her pic ends up on a billboard. i'm sure none of you are surprised. but it would be something you might want to show to younger girls if you know or have any.

1. How interesting
Yes, I knew about it. Years ago, one MTV personality, Jenny something or other, I'll never forget how she brought out a poster of herself on one talk show, showed where she had zits that had been covered, where her breasts had been airbrushed "they sag" Where her tummy was bloated--also airbrushed. She was the one who made no bones about what bleaching her hair blond did to it. I never cared for to watch her particularly, (she rode out her 15 minutes of fame quite well I believe) but I respected her for doing that. Her point was the same--how distorted beauty reality is in our media.
Thank you, great resource. I'm kind of liking this dove campaign, although I don't know much about the company. I tend to the cynical.

2. Thanks for posting this
BTW, check out the photography exhibit on the site, it's amazing. All different kinds of women, of many races, ages, and sizes, from all over the world.
