in an international friendly (didn't look friendly to me ). I watched the whole match. The score was 0-0 at the half. Germany's first goal at the 46th minute on a free kick was a bad omen for the USA in the 2nd half. Germany proceeded to pick apart the USA defense late with goals at minutes 73, 75, and 79. The one bright spot for USA was Steve Cherundolo's 75-yard goal at minute 85. Unintended shot from the outset, Cherundolo receives the ball from keeper Keller and lets go a long ball to Eddie Johnson. The one-on-one with Fast Eddie forces Oliver Kahn off his line. The players collide and the ball bounces into the net. Officially, the assist goes to Keller, but IMO, Johnson should get the assist also. Without his presence, Kahn could have easily collected the ball and there'd have been no goal.
World Cup 2006 is almost here.
