| How long until Nick Rimando moves to Europe? |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 11:55 PM by antiwarwarrior
Nick Rimando is the keeper for DC United, in MLS. After watching him keep a clean sheet in spectacular fashion against the MLS's most prolific goalscoring team, the New England Revolution, I'm convinced he's the best keeper in the league, which usually means he's soon to be shipped off to England just as Tim Howard was before him. But since he has (little or no) international experience, I doubt he'd be able to get a work permit in the UK, so I'm guessing Germany or Holland will be where he ends up.
Feel free to use this thread to further hype up other American-born players, or the MLS in general. :)

I don't really follow the Revolution, but I've been to a couple games (hey, it's better than nothing!) and yes, he was pretty solid in net... he made several game saves within 10 minutes of each other around 65'-75'... his best imo was the one where he jumped to save what I think was a header (can't remember) in the top corner and just punched it away... but there was also that (Ralston, I think) breakaway save. He was incredible last night... I think the Revs should have won that one.
Anyhow... I would guess Germany as well... maybe Oliver Kahn needs an understudy. :)
