| So...MLS teams are in camp |
|
(well, some of them) who looks good going into season 13?
Is is United? who basically redid the starting lineup with Gallego and Co from down south after selling Perkins and the unplayed Arguez to Europe and ditching Gomez?
the Galaxy? who will pair Ruiz with Donovan and that odd-looking british chap with the pop-star wife? (and maybe actually get a few players to fill out the roster?)
Houston? two time defending Cup champions, who lost their entire depth at Forward?
Chicago? Sans Osorio, but with a host of excellent draftees?
New England? the Bills of MLS, but without Noonan? (and will Twellman be happy to play after being refused his transfer?
Chivas? down one goalkeeper to Aston Villa, but perhaps still a threat?
RedBull? new coach, a healthy Altidore, still the Redbulls, though.
will all the competitions just wear down teams like Houston and DC (which could, if they advance to the finals in each competition, play upwards of 55 games this year)?
predictions:
Supporters Shield: DCU. Wells is an upgrade at keeper, Gallardo may be an upgrade at the ten spot, Niell and Emilio will enjoy the front line. over the long season, that sort of thing wins out.
Lamar Hunt Cup: (we really should like this more) Fire. they are posed to make a run in this competition no one cares about.
SuperLiga: Pumas (no MLS team has ever won a meaningful game on Mexican soil, don't expect that to change)
MLS cup: as much as I hate to admit it. I may have to go with the Galaxy on this one. I think if they get hot in October, and stay healthy, they can beat anyone. And, of course, it's at Home Depot...
