| Guzan denied work permit (at Aston Villa) |
|
after Brad Guzan agreed to a $4million transfer to Aston Villa, he was denied a work permit today by the Home Office. He doesn't meet the requirement of having 75% of full "A" national team matches over the past two years. it's a silly rule for keepers, of course, since no one plays more than one.
so where to go? can Celtic pull it off? will AV appeal again (can they?) back to Chivas for the spring?

Poor kid, he's such a talent. Unfortunately for him, he shares a country of origin with Tim Howard, Kasey Keller, and Marcus Hahnemann (whose name I almost certainly butchered). I'm happy for EJ, though - he's what Fulham needs despite their massive number of strikers, and he'll be great in England. His biggest problem, I think, was that he got bored at times in MLS, and you can be sure he won't have that kind of time in the Premiership.
