1. Short Term or Long Term? |
In the short term, of course. Farve is far better than Pennington or Clemens. Pennington is maybe the most accurate passer ever, but he has such little arm strength that defenses can cheat on the receivers. His best years were early when defensive coordinators were trying to beat him like they would a strong QB and he picked them apart. Defenses with fast secondaries hold back on him and stop all but the short routes. With Farve, its goign to be a much better offense. I'm a Duck (U of Oregon), so I love Clemens from his college days, but he has not been able to make the transition. He has a great arm, but he has not been accurate, which was a problem for him in college, plus his footwork sucks and he always has to rely on his strength becaus ehe is not in good positions to make throws. The Jets get a great year or two from Farve and it gives them time to either work Clemens or to move in another direction.

3. I don't think he has to |
The Jets offense is not very complex. They will simplify it for him because he can get the ball places Pennington and Clemens can't. I just hope he stays healthy.

4. As I understand it, Favre is a West Coast Offense QB |
and I don't think the Jets run a WC offense.
