Philadelphia Eagles shoot selves in foot - trade McNabb to Redskins!!! |
|
QB to be Kolb. Most successful QB in team history traded for draft picks from 'Skins. I believe Donovan will be happy in Washington, especially when the Skins whip the stumbling Eagles twice a year for the foreseeable future.
I can see several bad years ahead for the Eagles, especially if the fans who pressured to can McNabb succeed in getting rid of Reid as well...Then it's back to the old days.
I can't believe they will keep an incompetent like Vick very long now that McNabb is gone. I may have to root for the Steelers from now on.

Its pretty sad. They were 3-13 when McNabb came on board. I guess they are building a new team. We had season tickets at the old Vet Stadium. They sucked so bad the seats for the whole years cost $250. Hard to believe it has been 11+ years, since the times of Hoying and Rhodes. Good times man Good times. I guess I am just getting old. So, we got nothing for our best player, probably of all time. And his replacement? Kolb? YIKES.

2. Eagles got a 32'd pick in the draft this year and another 3rd or 4th round pick |

next year, which might essentially be nothing. McNabb will be playing for Shanahan, will have a running game and some very good medium range receivers. I believe he will help lift the Skins higher than they have been in decades. We got Kolb and Vick on QB, and got rid of Sheldon Brown, Chris Gogong, and about 4 more older players this past week. I heard they are "saving money" by going with young players. I also heard that the decision was made by bean counters, and Reid wanted McNabb to stay and play.
Kolb has never showed me much, and Vick is a joke.
I believe the Eagles will be the NFL East's doormat this season-maybe longer, and McNabb will have his best season in years. I also believe they will fire Reid within a year or two.
Maybe I'll just watch the Steelers. Or the Giants.

I was pissed when they got ride of Dawkins. I knew this was coming next. OH well such is life as a Philly fan. Still, I will always be a fan. Hey maybe ticket prices will go down.

4. Yeah, after they lose 11 or 12 games this year, they might be a bargain... |
|
Reid was not happy about it at all - I think the new management made the decision to get rid of the highly paid older players and go with all relatively low paid new guys. And I think Reid may be in his last year, too.
The criticism about the Eagles back in the pre-Reid days was that they didn't care about winning as long as the had enough interested fans to make a profit. I used to think that was BS, but I'm starting to believe it now.

That 2 pick will have HUGE value this year in this draft and probable value next year as I think it will be a 3.
this is the deepest draft in many years. That 2 pick is as good as a mid-round-1 pick most years.
