| Is anyone else thinking that New England may derail Indy's hopes? |
|
This team is back, and firing on all cylinders. This has nothing to do with Indy's loss, in fact the loss will make them stronger, but it has everything to do with the air around NE.
The offense is working again, and the defense just pitched a shutout, and has given up 10 points in 3 games. Sure, they haven't all been the best of teams (Tampa's pretty good though) but they just seem to be toying with their opponents at times.
If Belichek has the bodies on defense, he can beat anyone on a given Sunday....

I'd be more than a little worried. The mental edge he may have gotten from finally beating them this year might be gone now that they (the Colts) know they can lose a game, AND that the Pats are playing their best football of the year.

The offense was decent, but not overly impressive (and, part of their shut out was because the other team played so poorly). The Bengals, Seahawks, and Colts are all far better teams than the Pats IMHO (and more consistently impressive).
In the long run, it isworth considering is that New England, if I'm not mistaken, has never won a Super Bowl by more than 3 points - no more than a field goal. And I don't think that they are as good as they have been in past years, and I also think the aforementioned teams are all better than any of the opponents NE has faced so far in the SB.
I hear you though - any given Sunday - but I am fairly comfortable betting that NE will be knocked out pretty early or will lose the SB.

| 6. Saturday's game will be very interesting |

The loss of Mr. Dungy's son does add a pall on the whole event, though here is what else I see:
I saw some flaws in the Seahawks offense and defense when they kind of beat Tennessee on Sunday. This is what could cost valuable points for the Seahawks.
However, the Seahawks have been undefeated at home for their last 15-20 games, and are on a 10 game winning streak. At home they have an impressive "12th man" (Crowd noise) that could be a factor. Indy OTOH, is more consistent on offense than Seattle.
I'd better get my holiday shopping done before game time Saturday!!!

No one has any chance against Indy this season. Your time would be better spent playing Tecmo Bowl than watching the inevitable happen come playoff time.

| 9. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high based on that game. |
|
Remember, Indy beat NE late in the season (when it didn't mean anything any more) only to get toasted in the playoffs.
I'm not saying you aren't good (you ARE the class of the NFC), just don't count that game as a sign of anything...

| 10. Actually my only hopes are seeing the Hawks make it to the Superbowl |
|
It would be great if they met up with the Colts who are imo the best in AFC. Some say: "May The Best Team Win" I say "May The Best Two Teams Play" each other. Do I feel that this will happen? Who knows, "..on any given Sunday..." and "That's why they play the game" are two phrases which I am well aware of.
Should the Hawks and the Colts match up in the Superbowl I predict a close game filled with some fireworks by both sides. Do I think that either team is better? I think that the Colts are a shade better because of Peyton Manning, A Colts win may be in his hands.

I am somewhat convinced the Seahawks can make it to the Superbowl this year as NFC champions. An imposing stadium (12th man factor), and as long as Hasselbeck (crossing my fingers) maintains his consistency, and the team stays healthy, yes, Seattle is more than capable of playing in Detroit.
I think Colts will have renewed purpose after their untimely losses and the recent events, and will be more than ready to win the AFC.
Now as far as the SBXL win, it will be closer than their last meeting in Seattle. I'll hold off on a prediction for now.

Well, I don't care if it's Steelers or Denver. Seattle fans probably would want to see Denver, win. Seahawks-Broncos had a long standing AFC West rivalry before Seahawks moved to the NFC.
I think Seattle will prevail on Sunday. Saving up the $$$ for a Seahawks NFC championship sweatshirt...or a NFC West Division championship sweatshirt, depending on the outcome.
