When Should AP And Coaches Polls Be Released

I personally have always thought that starting the polls in early to mid August and voting based on a combination of returning starters and the best guesses of the "experts" in football magazines is down right ignorant. By starting the polls this early teams that are better then expected often never over come their initial low rankings and subsequently it takes the pollsters far to long drop teams who were over valued to start the year.

I personally would like to see the polls start in the first week of October after we get a feel for who might actually be the best 25 teams in America.
