Any parents have kids playing Pop Warner/ youth football?

My son is 7 years old and has expressed interest in playing full contact football. We play catch and he seems to have his father’s athleticism :) but I'm not sure if he is emotionaly ready. He can get really upset if he doesn’t catch the ball every time.

If any parents can share their insight and or experiences it would be greatly appreciated.

1. My son is 15 and he played from 10-14 years old.

They have full contact football at 7? Ours does not start until 9. My son did enjoy playing, he is now too small to play (even for the freshman HS team), but he had a lot of fun.
