| Can I just clean my walking shoes with ammonia? |
|
I bought some shoe cleaning product from the store before. Sure smelled like ammonia. But of course, more expensive and in a small bottle.

(the powder) to clean athletic shoes. I fill the sink with hot water, pour in about a cupful of the granules and swish until they dissolve and then turn the shoes upside down in the water and let them soak, then I throw them in the washing machine. If your shoes can't get saturated (ie: leather), I would recommend trying some baking soda and a damp toothbrush. You can also use commercial whitening toothpaste to scrub them clean.
