Ok, I run my own bidsness, it is a startup
So I had a very serious problem... I cannot afford page layout programs... so what do I use? Open Office. It is FRAMES capable, and once you export it to good quality PDF nobody will be the wiser that you did not use ... quark express.
I also use other Open source software... so you say you need Photo shop? Try GIMP
You need a note taking program? Try Keynote
The point is... you will be able to do 99% of what you need to do on your computer with open software and if you don't have proggies that absolutely don't play well with others (or a hubby who plays games that NEED Microsoft), youc an even ditch microsoft and just install Linux.

Key note is a note taking program
There are open source HTML editors, in fact I have a couple on the machine... you need one will gladly recomend them
And page layout that is what they use for laying out text for publication, the best known commercial products, FrameMaker and Quark Express
