We bought a device for our toilets that has the 2 button flusher. It took BF 5 minutes to install (granted, he's handy) and works well. Would put on other toilet but it is from the 1930's and won't fit. Just another little gadget to help just a little bit!

| 3. Since I've lived in old buildings my whole adult life, I've always filled up a 2 liter bottle |
|
with water and put it in the toilet tank. That saves 2 liters of water per flush. :hi:

We bought a similar model from the Home Depot but when we got it home we discovered it did not come with the mechanism to replace the "flapper" and because of the shape of the tank it would not fit! So we took it back and just control our water manually.
It's a funny quirk of our toilet, perhaps, but the length of time you hold down the handle determines the amount of water per flush. So I just stuck with that method.
On the commode in our master bath it doesn't work that way so I thank you for suggesting Costco as a solution there.

Amazon, Costco, etc. carry them, and surprisingly they only run $18 to $20. Read about it on Amazon as there are over 200 reviews of the product. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002NKRR7YCR hasn't tested it, but there is some feedback about in the CR Home and Garden blog. http://blogs.consumerreports.org/home/2010/04/hydroright-dual-flush-converter-best-toilets-review-single-flush-gerber-american-standardd-toto.htmlI think I'm going to take a chance on it for $20. Great thread.
