Of course, I'm 5'2" and they'd fit me and a cat just fine. (tho I'd have to give up the several thousand books we have.)
My husband is 6'3". He likes the IDEA of tiny houses (and really loves the Grow Houses designed for Katrina Gulf Coast temp housing) but if it doesn't have high ceilings and have room for long beds, he's going to feel cramped and hurt.
But if I'm ever on my own again, that's what I want, and damn the County boards.

| 5. Get one of the really tiny houses (50 sf) and park it nextdoor and |
|
call it your LIBRARY! If it were dedicated to library status, there would be lots of room for shelves, plus maybe a writing desk and cozy chair.

Alas, we have no room on our lot for another structure. I'm lucky I have room for my garden shed.
No, I tell a lie. There IS room on the lot, but I'd have to give up the green zone buffer I've built to shut out one neighbor's cigarette smoke and the sounds of her gonna be Vietnamese dinners if they're not careful yappie dogs, the changlings that came and replaced my other neighbor's nice, sweet daughters when they hit puberty (I'm not sure which is worse, the trooping giggle of girls or the wannabe boys that are too cool to come knock on a door, but turn their stereos up to get the girls' attention. I want to percussion grenade them all, but I'm an old fart.)
I need that space. It keeps me from calling down the wrath of Shiva on the entire neighborhood.

| 4. These homes were featured on MSNBC today |
|
They talked about sizes and prices as well as showed the layout of one model. They also mentioned that the government was going to offer something very similar called "Katrina" houses to victims of the disaster.

It's hard to imagine living inside one room - I want to see it, the way he lives in it.
