| 1. Meh. You've seen the pictures of ours. |

It's okay. I'd rather have pellets. I'm thinking about replacing our gas fireplace with a low-clearance pellet stove before the end of the year.

I kept forgetting to ask DH about them.
Okay, he said don't use them in a small room. When I asked him why, he said that they put out a lot of moisture. I told him that I thought you lived in the desert & he said that it will work fine.
Are there any specific questions you have? Do you have one in mind? I'll be glad to get more info if you have particulars.

18' x 27' (give or take)
we have no problem with venting it too if that is more efficient. we want something that looks nice in the corner, doesn't take up a ton of space, can be vented through the wall (rather than the metal roof) and will put out some heat if we have a power outage
i haven't landed on a model, we're still deciding if they are affordable to run on propane and if they are effective for heating a room when the snow comes. the average overnight lows are only around 27 degrees and if we get snow, you don't shovel it, you hose it off the sidewalk LOL
clear, dry and cold sums up the winters there usually. does he have a recommendation I can research?
thanks in advance and tell your DH thanks a bunch too! :hi:

want ventless will work fine. He said that ventless are cheaper to get into, so you have a lot less cost. (pipe can cost a lot-especially Class A).
They work best in dry climates & that's what you've got.
He said to get the one with the longest warrenty.

shop out back (which we will need to warm for Hubby to run his biz out of there so we need something out there anyway) so if I can impose for one more question, are the real gas hogs? we have a 300 gallon propane tank, but deliveries are spendy I think

Also, it will work when the power goes out (unlike pellet), will heat up your area just fine & should be reasonable to get into since you're going ventless.

He said that 90% have the same guts, no matter which one you buy. He said buy at a reputable, long established business & get the one with the longest, best warranty.
Hope this helps.

come back & I'll get more info from him. Or if you pick a model. Gotta warn you though, he's retiring in a week & is getting a bit snotty about it. "I'm retiring, I don't have to do this anymore."
