After only running a partial season in the American Le Mans Series in 2009 as it transitioned from GT1 to GT2, Corvette Racing is back for a full attack in 2010. Not only will the factory Corvette C6.Rs be running all nine ALMS events this year, but two of the yellow and black machines are headed back to France this June in search of a seventh class victory at Le Mans.
The thundering 'Vettes will be part of the 17 vehicle group in GT2 at Le Mans. They will be facing off against the Porsche 911s, BMW M3s, Ferrari F430s, an Aston Martin Vantage, a Spyker C8 and the new Jaguar XKR. Emmanuel Collard and Antonio Garcia will join the regular crew of drivers for the three enduros at Sebring, Le Mans and Road Atlanta. The Corvettes will be running a new 5.5-liter V8 this year starting at Sebring.
