| Looking for a hurricane fund for a Christmas gift. |
|
OK, I've been sending checks out to relief agencies in lieu of Christmas presents this year, and I've been trying to match the organization to the person who's gift I'm replacing. For instance, my mother is a devout Presbyterian, so I gave to the Presbyterian Disaster Services program; my sister is a dog-lover, so I donated to Project HALO animal rescue for her.
But now I'm stuck on where to donate for my son. He's 23, starting grad school soon to become a history professor, and he also runs his own swim coaching business for youth. So I guess I'm looking for any historical rebuilding organization on the coast, or perhaps contact information on a local swim team that has to commute huge distances because their school and pool was destroyed. Anyone know any organizations like that you could recommend I donate to?
