I went through Katrina, and I was already going through a severe divorce. Combined, I snapped.
I'm not going to equate what I went through with our men and women in war zones, because that would be absurd and insulting to their sacrifices.
What happened to me, though, I still struggle with it. I feel like I have lost myself. I have not been able to climb out of the hole of it like my peers.
I am unemployed, though I have a lot of skills, simply because I am incapable of leaving the house. It shames me, but I really question where to turn at this point.

| 1. I bet a lot of those peers are good actors. |

Having the economy so bad isn't helping you. I don't know what mental health resources are available to you, but getting assistance is not shameful at all. I wish there was less stigma on getting help.
Best wishes to you.

Came across some Katrina pictures here today and fell apart.
Every time I think I am over it, I find out I am not.
And I have never been able to speak openly and honestly about it with anyone.
I feel your pain.
