| I just sent a letter to my union steward. |
|
The response shall be interesting, but I need a relevant, 3rd party perspective.

| 1. From everything you said, I am a bit suprised you are in a union |
|
What does the union think about the cross training? How does the existence of a union affect employees in regards to potential lay offs?

But the last I heard, they are not fond of it. But the union has failed people and departments before. Some believe (not me, but I was slightly burned once too) the union has sold out to big $ as everyone else.
I'm also in the middle of my resignation letter because
A) I'm not opening myself for dismissal B) I learned my shit. I'm not helping others in rendering my career redundant. C) Their ineptitude destroyed my respect for them. D) They don't deserve me as an employee. E) My physical health is in decline. I want to live in a semi-solid state.
Other people have left or walked out.
And because of foul verbal treatment by these insensitive green "managers", I feel increasingly disrespected. This is not a good working environment. And it's been affecting my physically the last week or so; I collapsed twice today. My resignation letter was originally going to be sparse, but I've decided to write out all my complaints. At least I'll feel better.

| 3. the only one the compliant letter hurts is yourself - |
|
it follows you every where and the problem person never has it follow them - it is in your file - so if you want to shoot yourself - tell them what you think - they don't care or they would do something about it-
instead decide what is best for you given the situation - can you live through it until all the other people change - if not - then what - their are these kind of people everywhere - I think a pre-req for management is mean spiritedness without feeling - typical republican type person - no emotions - unless practiced anger for intimidation
