The PSN is a national labor-affiliated organization based in NYC which lobbies state legislators all over the country. The organization takes positions of conscience on many issues for the betterment of working people. They do truly admirable work. I suspect that as with most NGOs, they pay less than for-profit corporations for comparable expertise.
These are not entry-level positions, except for the intern. All the jobs require the willingness to travel
alot. Even the intern post needs proven research, computer, and organizational skills (recent grad school graduate?). Most are lobbying jobs needing special expertise on various issues.
One is a media coordinator who can help translate their message into campaigns of press releases, lobbying materials, and effective, informative webpages w/ the help of an IT person. It requires a lot of multi-tasking like getting info from numerous state coordinators and using it to determine what position papers need to say to help lobbyists. I'm sure PSN wants proof of these abilities. Perhaps someone who has managed the media for a strong political campaign?
PSN wants NO phone calls to its office.Further info on the jobs, and where to send your resume, are on
