laid off; found out about that one by networking (not advertised) and not one call for the other jobs I've been applying to each week. A week after that interview, I was asked for references, and haven't heard a word since (I've followed up and didn't get a response). I was told during the interview it would probably be "a few months" before they would be hiring and the person who told me about the job said she heard the company has been "slammed."
I know I'm but one of the hundreds of thousands (millions?) out of work, but I pray things will start to improve soon. This sucks royally.

1. most companies never contact you back, some you get a form letter |

we are impressed with your qualifications but we picked someone who was a match or you get a postcard acknowledging they got your app or you hear nothing - at least you had a interview - need to keep looking - especially if you haven't heard back within a week.
