700 was the unlucky number on Tuesday. News leaked early in the day that internet search engine Yahoo could be laying off between 600 and 700 employees. This would be the fourth lay off in three years for the company and would amount to a workforce cut of five percent. Northern Indiana, already struggling with a high unemployment rate, was also hit with some bad news as TJX Company announced it would be shuttering a distribution center for its discount chain A.J. Wright. If the plan moves forward it could the 700 employees at the center will start receiving pink slips in February.
