Walsworth Publishing Co., a commercial publisher based in Marceline, Mo., will close its Bellevue printing facility, ending 83 jobs.

The closure, to occur over the “next few months,” is due to Walsworth's acquisition of IPC Print Services in St. Joseph, Mich. Walsworth decided to buy IPC instead of expanding the Bellevue facility, which is located at 1508 Chandler Road, executives said.
“The decision to acquire IPC and move from Omaha was a business decision for Walsworth Publishing,” said Don Walsworth, president of the company. “It was by no means a negative reflection on our workforce in Omaha or our experience there as a company.”
Walsworth said it will help local employees, but it didn't say what kind of assistance was planned. Some workers could choose to relocate to other Walsworth locations around the country, the company said.
Managers at the Bellevue facility declined to comment on the announcement. Walsworth Publishing has operated in Nebraska for six years.
The company doesn't yet know where it will shift the operations that were located in Bellevue.
