More health care reform benefits for millions of people took effect January 1st – benefits Republicans in Congress are vowing to repeal. Here are some of the benefits in the Affordable Health Care Act that help your family as Republican try to take them away from you. Republicans want to repeal the new law’s ban on children with pre-existing conditions being denied coverage and they ant to repeal new rules limiting insurance company premium hikes. .Health care reform also requires insurance companies to spend 80 percent of premiums on actual health care or they have to rebate money to you. Republicans want to take that away from you. Medicare beneficiaries will get many preventative health screenings and vaccinations free this year thanks to health care reform and prescription drug costs for Medicare patients will shrink by $700 this year. Republicans want to take that back, too.
