Continental Airlines and its flight attendants union reached a 20-month tentative interim agreement on Tuesday and a vote is expected in the next few weeks.
The new contract covers 9,500 flight attendants represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and comes after flight attendants rejected the last deal in October.
2.5% retroactive raise
The latest tentative interim agreement contains a 2.5 percent base wage increase retroactive to Jan. 1, 2010, with an additional 2.5 percent increase next Sept. 1.
Additional terms include profit sharing, sick leave enhancements and a no-furlough clause for the life of the agreement.
The negotiating committee "unanimously recommends membership ratification," Continental flight attendant and Local 2339N President Joey Guider said.
