LINCOLN -- One of the longest working women in America, 102-year-old Sally Gordon, retired on Tuesday after working the past 27 years as a sergeant of arms at the Nebraska Legislature.
Dozens of State Capitol workers gathered for a retirement reception on Tuesday. They included 11-year-old Matthew Ludwig of Lincoln, whose mother works as a lobbyist.
Gordon worked for three Nebraska governors during her remarkable career, which led to a national "Outstanding Older Worker" award last year.
