Michigan has long had one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. The last time the state saw a rate not in the double digits was in November of 2008. However, Michigan Republican and House Ways and Means Committee Chair Dave Camp plans to move forward on three "free-trade" agreements Thursday without the consideration of a plan by the Obama administration to extend aid for workers who lose jobs to overseas competition. President Barack Obama has suggested he won't move forward with the trade agreements unless they include the aid for U.S. workers which expired in February of this year.
