need help from someone in or near Boston or Montreal

My wife and I will be taking a cruise from Boston to Montreal next June. But coming from Florida, we will need to either get one-way from Montreal-to-Boston or from Boston-to-Montreal to complete our travel (we will either fly r/t to Boston or Montreal).

Can cars be rented on-way from Canada (Montreal) to the US (Boston) or vice versa? It does not appear so using sites like Travelocity or the like.

Is there a convenient train or bus that runs from one to the other?

Anyone able to help?

1. When I did the same itinerary, I took Amtrak from Montreal to NYC, then flew to BOS

The train ride was about 10 hrs, but it was a beautiful ride and was done all in one day (left Montreal in the morning, arrived NYC Penn Station at night).

Took a taxi to Newark, spent the night at the airport Marriott and flew back to BOS the next morning.

It all worked out very well.

It was a fantastic trip - have a great time!
