France mid-to-end of May. I usually start looking about now to see if I can put together something affordable but the fares are awful. Will not go if $$$ does not come down. Thanks!

Surely you jest ;p Let's see, last year we spent a week at the Jersey Shore. We drove 2 hours and Voila!!! I'm on vacation
Seriously, I wish I could go to France. Other than Portugal, I've never been to Europe but, would love to do the 'after college bum around Europe for the summer.' Too broke then, too old now (and still broke).
Even if the fares were rock bottom cheap I don't think I'd go. I never liked flying even tho I worked for an airline. 9/11 just made it worse for me.
Good luck. Hope someone posts some hot fares for ya. I'll be watching.
Bon Vonage!!!

then we're going to take the Chunnel to Paris from there. You might want to try it. It ended up being cheaper than flying out of Paris. Oh yeah, we're going at the end of March. Good luck and Bon Voyage!

Once you're across the Atlantic, it's a short hop to anywhere else in Europe. (Travel from the west coast of France to the shores of the Black Sea in Russia, and you've traveled a distance only equivalent to halfway across the U.S.)
When I was in London in August, it was full of tourists from other European countries. I heard people speaking French, Spanish, Italian, German, and those were just the languages I could identify.
For Europeans, going to another country is like going to another state for us, and once you're in any EU country, you can go to any other EU country without going through customs.
